AceInfo is currently seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to support our federal project, in Fort Collins, CO. Candidate must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust from the Federal Government.  


Senior AWS Cloud Engineer

As a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer, you will be a leading contributor of a team developing a national, enterprise-wide web application. We are seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented AWS Cloud Engineer, focusing on Security, Design, Implementation, Configuration, Monitoring, Compliance and Accreditation.

You will be part of an Agile development team tasked to architect, design and implement AWS solutions as we transition into the AWS cloud platform of services. You will lead design efforts to ensure defined performance, security, usability, reliability and scalability requirements. This is an opportunity to be part of an Agile development team with a passion for innovation and the implementation of cutting-edge technologies.




  • Responsible for design, development, and hands-on implementation of Cloud solutions.
  • Serve as technical resource in development team’s efforts to determine the needs of the business that will simplify and automate the applications as well as make them more efficient.
  • Participate in the software development life cycle to ensure sound Cloud solutions are implemented.
  • Participate in planning, implementation, and growth of our customer's Amazon Web Services (AWS) foundational footprint.
  • Work closely with architects and engineers to recommend and design database or data storage solutions that effectively reflect our business needs, security, and service level requirements.
  • Work with application and architecture teams to conduct proof of concept (POC) and implement the design in production environment in AWS.
  • Work with .current application teams to understand our current applications and make migration recommendations and to-be Architectures in AWS.
  • Provide Advisory Services to support delivery programs including service design, DevSecOps, securing existing solutions, helping teams through the ATO/A&A process, selecting and connecting security tools to the customer’s environment.
  • Provide understanding of the Cloud Security tooling landscape, and experience integrating various Cloud Security tools together to provide end to end application lifecycle management.
  • Act as the resident AWS Security expert, providing expertise on the AWS Security services and objective recommendations on both AWS and non AWS Security tooling based on development team requirements.
  • Review coding done to advance application upgrade, extension, or other development. Analyze application for data integrity issues.
  • Develop test protocols or plan for testing revised application. Review test results.
  • Serve as project lead or lead technical staff in course of application development project.
  • Mentor less experienced technical staff.
  • Potentially use high end development tools to assist or facilitate development process.
  • Develop automated solutions to monitor and support software development and release processes.



  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years of technical professional experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of AWS experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of cloud security design, configuration and delivery experience
  • AWS Associate Level Certification required (Professional desired)
  • Experience with programming and infrastructure automation (e.g., Python, Shell, Java, and JSON).
  • Experience designing, developing, deploying, and testing in AWS architecture
  • Advanced knowledge of AWS Services including:
    • Management - CloudWatch (Events/Logs), IAM, CloudTrail, EC2 Systems Manager
    • IaaS - EC2, VPC, EBS, ELB, KMS, Config, SNS, SQS, SES, SWF, S3, Glacier
    • Security – KMS, CloudHSM, DirectConnect, VPC (ACL, Security Groups, Routing, etc.)
    • Monitoring – VPC Flow Logs, 3rd Party Security Marketplace, NAT, JumpBox
    • Hands-on experiences with CloudFormation, Lambda, AWS CLI/API
  • Experience with Trusted Internet Connections (TIC) / MTIPS
  • Experience with AD/ADFS extension to the Cloud (SAML)
  • Experience with 3rd Party Security tools (Alert Logic, Contrast, etc.)
  • Experience with HIDS/NIDS solutions
  • Cloud Platforms (AWS IaaS and platform services, Azure IaaS and PaaS services)
  • A team player capable of high performance and flexibility in a dynamic working environment
  • Taking ownership and acting with high sense of urgency; this job requires the individual to work like an entrepreneur
  • Ability to attain Federal Government Position of Trust
