    AceInfo is currently seeking an AWS Cloud Systems Engineer to support our upcoming federal project in Reston, VA. 

     

     

    Position Description:

     

    AceInfo is currently seeking a AWS Cloud Systems Engineer with 3-5 years (mid-level) and 5-7 years (senior) of strong hands-on design and implementation in AWS cloud. The systems engineer will build compute, storage and network services in AWS as part of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) offerings to multiple federal clients and AceInfo internal.

     

    Responsibilities

    The AWS Systems Engineer / Administrator responsibilities include: Work hands-on with AWS, work with a team of engineers to develop and maintain large-scale hosting, AWS accounts, VPCs, servers, applications, databases and automation using AWS services. The AWS Systems Engineer / Administrator will work with client team members of the Architecture, Security, Network, Engineering, Automation, and Development Operations Teams to assist in the implementation of and movement to AWS Cloud and provide technical expertise.

    • Manage, scale and automated resources for AWS organization and linked accounts, IaaS and PaaS services
    • Continuous integration and deployment, AWS monitoring and IAM
    • Create and maintain AWS networking: VPC, Subnets, Security Groups, VPN, Peer-to-Peer, NAT, Gateways, Express routes, load balancers, IP-tables, security groups and ACL's
    • Provision Windows and Linux instances, web application, extensions, jump boxes and other resources on an as-needed basis.
    • Write Cloud formation and Terraform scripts for Infrastructure as Code
    • Perform AWS Identity Access Management tasks including user accounts, roles and policies management
    • Deploy and manage AWS storage for variety of DB's (SaaS and PaaS applications), Windows and Linux instances among other AWS cloud services
    • Configure backups for AWS resources and On-Premise physical and virtual machines running on schedule jobs
    • Configure, manage and support RemoteApps and RemoteApp users on AWS
    • Configure AWS automation jobs to automate various tasks for AWS management, system administration, provisioning, decommissioning, and deployments
    • Develop a robust design to meet customer business requirement with scalability, availability, performance and cost effectiveness using Amazon offerings
    • Identify and gather requirements to define an architectural solution which can be successfully built and operate on AWS
    • High level and low-level design for the AWS platform which may also include virtual data center design as necessary
    • Provide AWS operations and deployment guidance and best practices throughout the lifecycle of a project
    • Understanding the significance of the different metrics under the monitoring, their threshold values and should be able to take necessary corrective measures based on the thresholdsce:
    • Ensure Traceability of requirements through design, implementation and testing phases of the project.

    Qualifications

    • Strong experience with AWS services and technologies and associated components and variations, including: 

      • VPC, VPC Peering, Direct Connect, subnets, security groups, NACLs, Route 53, Availability Zones and Regions
      • EC2, AMI, Snapshot, Auto scaling, Lambda
      • EBS, S3, Multi-region replication, Storage Gateway, Snowball
      • Load balancers, Nat Gateway, Internet Gateway
      • Security components, Key pair, security groups, ACL; IAM, Directory Service, Certificate manager
      • RDS, DMS, EMR, REDSHIFT, Dynamo DB and Replication
      • Data Lake and Analytics
      • Auto-Scaling, Load Balancers and High Availability
      • Backups and recovery, Disaster Recovery and COOP
      • Cloud Watch, Ops works, Cloud Trail and other monitoring services
      • AWS billing and cost management, services consumption and optimization
      • Json scripting, Cloud formation, any other scripting language for DevOps automation and Infrastructure as Code
      • Amazon Market place and other Amazon cloud service offerings including PaaS
      • Must have good knowledge on the networking, subnet, subnet masking, route tables, routing, access control list, NAT and port address translation
    • Excellent ability to handle vendors (especially non-IT related vendors
    • AWS Solution Architect or SysOps or DevOps Engineer (Associate/Professional) certification is preferred
    • Bachelor’s or advanced degree, preferably in Computer Science or Engineering disciplines.

    Soft skills include:

    • Ability to communicate ideas in a variety of formats
    • Adheres to Agile development methodology

     

    Knowledge of the following areas a plus:

     

    Experience deploying some of the following tools in AWS:

    • Amazon Elastic Map Reduce
    • Experience with AWS Data Lake and Analytics and Amazon EMR
    • RDS (postgresql) experience
    • DynamoDB experience
    • Exposure to RedShift Cluster

     

     

    Additional Requirement:

    U.S. Citizen is required for the position. Must be able to obtain a Public Trust or have an Active Secret clearance.
