    Project Overview:

The 480 ISRW is the Air Force leader in globally networked intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) operations. The Wing’s comprehensive set of ISR capabilities include Lead Wing designation for the Air Force Distributed Common Ground System (AF DCGS), as well as national cryptologic, information technology, cyber ISR, tactical analysis, Combined Forces Air Component Command (CFACC)-support, and national-to-tactical signals intelligence (SIGINT) integration. The unit’s mission is executed on a 24 hour, seven (7) days per week basis across several core and remote sites with Command, Control and Communications (C3) locations at Langley Air Force Base (AFB), VA and Beale AFB, CA.

The AF DCGS, also referred to as the AN/GSQ-272 SENTINEL weapon system, is the Air Force’s primary ISR planning, collection, processing and exploitation, analysis and dissemination weapon system. The weapon system employs a global communications architecture that connects multiple intelligence platforms, DoD networks, and sensors. Personnel assigned to AF DCGS produce actionable intelligence from data collected by a variety of sensors on the U-2, RQ-4 Global Hawk, MQ-1 Predator, MQ-9 Reaper and other ISR platforms across multiple security levels up to TOP SECRET/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI.
