    AceInfo is currently seeking a Systems Administrator to support our federal project in Kearneysville, WV. 

     

     

    Position Description:

     

    The Ops/IaaS System Administrator works on the Ops/IaaS Team to provide daily system support and troubleshooting for the Enterprise Computing, System Backups and/or Enterprise Storage infrastructure hardware and software providing services to the Operations Systems Center (OSC) Business and Support Systems. The SA will work mainly with VMware products but may become involved with *nix servers and Window systems integrated with Cisco/Brocade network devices, NetApp/3PAR storage arrays and Quantum tape library systems (physical and virtual). Knowledge of VMware products (vSphere 6 and newer) is required. Experience with Symantec NetBackup, NetApp/3PAR storage arrays and SAN administration is a plus.

     

    The SA is expected to have technical knowledge of his/her systems and be capable of executing independent and team tasks as assigned. The SA must be a team player and willing to interact with other people at all levels throughout the organization. The SA must possess the ability to identify and troubleshoot hardware and software issues across a variety of systems and platforms.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Technical Support for the systems including responding to Help Desk tickets and working with users to resolve issues relating to Systems Backups
    • Perform daily systems review (logs, backups, etc.)
    • Participate and contribute to architectural design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the virtualization infrastructure
    • Plan, communicate, test, and perform system maintenance, to include upgrades, security updates, and patching
    • Research and investigate problems and develop viable solutions; communicate recommendations clearly and effectively to the team  
    • Provide technical input for policies and procedures and maintain associated documentation
    • Develop and maintain accurate documentation of servers, network, etc.
    • Adhere to Change/Configuration Management procedures and policies
    • Develop, post, and maintain web pages or documentation for distribution of information
    • Accurately enter host tracking and service approval information in internal DB.
    • Assist Project Manager/team in gathering system metrics for reporting purposes

    Qualifications

    Required Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Engineering or related degree program or sufficient technical experience to substitute for the formal education requirement.
    • Security+ certification.

    Required Experience

    • At least 1 year of experience supporting projects and systems of similar size, scope and technical complexity to those supported under this contract.

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Working knowledge of VMware products (vSphere 6 and newer)
    • Working knowledge of a combination of Linux, Unix, or Windows Operating Systems
    • Ability to work well in a team environment, promote customer service, and handle complex technical issues
    • Strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to clearly, accurately, and concisely communicate technical information in both oral and written formats
    • Ability to participate on 24x7 on-call team (rotating schedule).
    • Familiarity with the Microsoft Suite of tools (Word, Excel, Project, Power Point, etc).
    • Familiarity or ability to learn new tools quickly
    • Strong customer service and consultation skills
    • Must be flexible, intuitive and self-motivated
    • Work hours are consistent but occasional ad hoc requirements necessitate flexible hours

     

    Beneficial Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Experience with NetApp/3PAR storage arrays
    • Experience with Cisco/Brocade SAN switches
    • Experience with Symantec NetBackup and automated tape library systems
    • Experience with Quantum tape libraries
    • Experience with DoD STIGs, server hardening and security implementation strategies
    • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
    • Familiarity with CSS, Javascript, PHP, MySQL and ksh/sh scripting

     

    Additional Information

    This position is open to US citizens only and requires applicants to successfully obtain a NACI  prior to start date.
